Google Messages’ auto-organising categories have disappeared for some users

The carousels categorising SMS and RCS chats have reportedly disappeared from some users' Google Messages app. According to a 9to5Google report, the categories that previously appeared below the search bar have been missing. While it's not clear what has caused the issue, some Pixel devices affected were on the beta channel.
